ALAN SHEYDWASSER, MD

MEET THE PHYSICIAN

Dr. Alan Sheydwasser is a fellowship-trained interventional pain management physician who is double board-certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

He grew up in northeastern Pennsylvania and he received a degree in bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude.

Dr. Sheydwasser went on to earn his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine. While a medical student, Dr. Sheydwasser received the merit-based Dr. Sam Houston Sanders Scholarship.

He then completed his internship, anesthesiology residency, and interventional pain management fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. During fellowship, he received specialized training in interventional pain management procedures from the leaders in the field.

Dr. Sheydwasser believes in providing down-to-earth and compassionate care. He utilizes a multi-modal, evidence-based approach to provide individualized treatment options with the goals of minimizing pain while improving function and quality of life. He has performed research on improving communication between patients and their doctors and he is interested in how technological advancements and medical research can improve the lives of those suffering from chronic pain.

In his free time, Dr. Sheydwasser enjoys spending time with his family and friends, travelling, cooking, and sampling food and wine from around the world. Since childhood, he has been visiting family friends in Houston and he developed a fondness for the city and its people. He is excited to serve the people of the Greater Houston metropolitan area.
